Terms of Service
Last updated: October 3, 2026
These terms apply to your use of dodcomic.com and pupGO at go.dodcomic.com (together, the "services"), operated by Dogs of Downtown in McKinney, Texas ("we", "us"). By using them you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains in detail what information we collect for payments on dodcomic.com and for accounts, location and photos in pupGO, and how we use it.
Who can use the services
You must be at least 13 years old to create a pupGO account, and at least 18 (or have a parent or guardian's permission and supervision) to make a purchase. If you use the services for a business, such as a shop that buys a Bark Station, you confirm you are allowed to act for that business.
Accounts and sign-in
You can sign up for pupGO with your email address and a password, or sign in with Google or Facebook. Give us a real email address you control, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under it. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing info@dodcomic.com; see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what we must keep.
Purchases and access codes
- Bark Station access codes are sold only on dodcomic.com and paid through Stripe's secure checkout. Prices are shown at checkout, in US dollars, and you agree to pay them and any applicable taxes. Your card details are handled by Stripe, not by us, under Stripe's terms.
- After payment your code is shown on the thank-you page and a copy is emailed to the address you entered at checkout. Check your spam folder; if it does not arrive, email info@dodcomic.com with your purchase details and we will resend it.
- If the email you pay with matches the confirmed email on a pupGO account, the code is also linked to that account so it appears in the app. Linking is a convenience: the code itself still works for whoever enters it.
- A code works once and unlocks one Bark Station. Keep it private. We can't replace a code that has been used or shared.
- Payments that take time to clear (such as bank debits) are fulfilled once Stripe confirms them. Promotion codes work only as issued and have no cash value.
- Because codes are delivered digitally and can be redeemed immediately, purchases are generally final. If something goes wrong on our side, such as a code that fails to work or never arrives, contact us and we will make it right, including refunding if we can't fix it. This doesn't limit any refund rights you have by law.
- Physical goods and wholesale orders are handled under the terms agreed with you at the time of order.
Playing pupGO safely
pupGO uses your device's location and asks you to walk to real places in downtown McKinney. Stay aware of your surroundings, obey traffic laws and signs, don't play while driving or cycling, and don't enter private property, closed areas or businesses outside their opening hours. Map trails and directions are generated automatically and are not a promise that a route is safe or open. Children should play with an adult. You play at your own risk.
Location-based features only work if you allow location access, and accuracy depends on your device and signal. Faking or spoofing your location, or otherwise manipulating check-ins, is not allowed.
Your content
When you upload photos, submit a Bark Station, post a trade or enter initials on a leaderboard, you keep ownership of your content but give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and use it to run and promote the services. Some of it is public: approved Bark Stations appear on the pupGO map and leaderboard initials are visible to other players. Only submit content you have the right to share, that doesn't show other people without their permission, and that isn't offensive, misleading or unlawful. We review Bark Station submissions and may decline or remove any content at our discretion.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the services: no attempts to break, overload or probe them, no automated scraping that harms the site, no guessing or reselling access codes, no cheating or location spoofing, no fraudulent payments or chargebacks, and no use that breaks the law or others' rights.
Our content
The Dogs of Downtown comics, characters, artwork, pupGO and the site are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark. You may view and share links to them, and use them personally, but may not copy, sell or create derivative works without our written permission.
We email you only about your account (such as confirming your email or resetting your password), your purchases and access codes, and support requests. We do not use your email for marketing.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the services running but don't promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or end features, and may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Disclaimer and liability
The services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts in Collin County, Texas, unless the law requires otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
