Gracie McCorkle is an 8-year-old author, illustrator, and creative force from McKinney, Texas. Initially written as a homeschool short story about dogs she encountered in downtown shops, the project rapidly blossomed into a full-blown comic book adventure, Dogs of Downtown McKinney.

With support from her family, Gracie has transformed her passion into a budding business. She brainstormed characters, designed a custom card game with her brothers, Go Fetch!, and started an Etsy store featuring her dog products. Gracie also learned the ropes of wholesale commerce to partner exclusively with local shops in Downtown McKinney, supporting the community that inspires her.

Gracie has officially published and copyrighted her first comic issue, hosted multiple event booths, and successfully SOLD OUT of her initial print run! Due to high demand, she is currently preparing a reprint of Issue #1 to bundle with her highly anticipated Issue #2. To meet reader requests, Issue #2 will be available in two formats: manga style and a standard full-size comic format. Her upcoming issue also features new pup friends she met while exploring the local farmers market.

Dogs of Downtown McKinney is Gracie’s love letter to her community, its beloved pups, and a testament to the creativity that happens when you let kids dream big. 🐾
